Dr. Gaston is Vice Chair for Translational Research at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He went to college and to medical school at the University of Virginia.  He served in the United States Navy. He trained in Pediatric Pulmonology at Boston Children’s Hospital.  He has been continuously funded by the NIH for over 25 years, and currently is PI on several grants, including a program project grant to study asthma.  He has over 250 publications and over ten patents.  He was elected a member of the Association of American Physicians. He has helped to found companies focused on translating discoveries for the benefit of children with respiratory diseases.  He and his wife have three children.
