Alison Chandra

Scientific Director

Alison Chandra is the Science Director at Heterotaxy Connection. A pediatric RN for two decades, Alison understands heterotaxy both clinically and personally as the parent of a child with heterotaxy and complex congenital heart disease. She helps bridge the gap between families and medical research by translating complex information into clear, useful guidance—and by elevating patient and caregiver priorities in how we think about outcomes. Alison’s experience includes working in intensive care settings and serving overseas on a charity hospital ship, which deepened her commitment to equitable, patient-centered care. In addition to her advocacy work, she continues to support families as a pediatric home health nurse.
